INTRODUCTION: The new Multi Terrain Pattern (MTP)
Sniper Ghillie Suit is built upon the traditional Shroud
system with the addition of battle proven improvements
such as a wired detachable hood, buckle protection covers and additional strong elastic points for attaching natural camouflage.
The suit utilises a simple knotting fixture system without the need for traditional gluing or stitching. Five colour Synthetic Sniper Thread is used which is Waterproof, Rot Proof, Mildew Resistant, Fire Retardant, Washable, Odourless, Non Allergenic and Lightweight
Upon retiring from a full career, with over 15 years spent sniping, I wanted to improve the in service hessian Ghillie being used after a good friend was badly burnt in one.
The synthetic strings are a great alternative as they don’t gain weight when wet, won’t rot and do offer a better fire resistance than stripped down hessian/burlap. They are quickly attached using a knot hook and a full shroud could be built -flash to bang - in 8 hours. The great advantage with the strings too is that they can be removed by loosing the knot and the colours can be tailored to the area/environment of operations by using the different coloured threads.

* Ghillie Construction kit (enough to build one shroud)
* Fully built and fire retardant treated MTP Shroud ready to go.
To date some are being used by some MoD sniper groups, some Partner Force Sniper Units and Avon Constabulary.
There is a Desert Variant available that uses the MTP base cam.
